Nakwon Rice Cake / Sweet Rice / Peachtree sits somewhat quietly off Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Duluth, offering a focused spot for those looking to enjoy traditional Korean rice cakes alongside solid tea and coffee options. This cafe attracts a mix of local families and solo visitors, often coming to savor chewy, freshly made dduks — a clear highlight here — in a simple, clean setting that leans more toward casual comfort than trendy coffeehouse bustle.

The atmosphere is straightforward and cozy, with enough seating to settle in for some work or study, especially appreciated by visitors who find it a quieter alternative to busier chains nearby. While it’s not the easiest place to spot, the experience rewards those who make the trip with attentive preparation of their rice cakes, made to order with fillings that typically avoid excessive sweetness, balancing tradition with approachable flavors.

On the drink side, the lattes and milky teas hold their own, complementing the dessert-focused menu without overwhelming it. The staff tends to greet with polite smiles and maintain a steady pace of service, though some visitors have experienced a more detached interaction here and there. It’s worth noting that packaging choices currently lean toward plastic and styrofoam, which might detract slightly from the otherwise fresh and natural feel of the offerings.

This spot is best suited for anyone curious about Korean treats beyond the usual desserts, families looking to share an authentic flavor experience, or locals wanting a calm place to enjoy a quiet bite with tea or coffee. Mid-mornings and weekday afternoons appear to be quieter, offering a peaceful backdrop for casual visits or light work sessions. If you’re navigating Peachtree Industrial, expect a tucked-away charm rather than a polished storefront but one that delivers on traditional rice cake quality in a no-frills environment.

Delicious latte and milk tea. Tried our first rice cake and my daughter loved it! Wish I remembered the name of it. Ladies were so kind and we’re all smiles as my daughter said hi and thank you in Korean.

The dduks here are on another level. So chewy and the fillings are not too sweet—which is the ultimate Asian dessert compliment. :) Love the vibe of the sitting area. It’s a definitely IYKYK kind of a location because it was a little bit tricky to get to. The service was good but robotic. The vibe overall was clean and cozy. Will definitely be back.

The lady working in the cashier was so rude. I wanted to cancel my order but i didn’t. She didn’t have good manner both on the site and phone.

The rice cakes are fresh and yummy and almost all of them are vegan! All are egg free and only one has dairy They also have iced/hot tea and coffee besides the rice cakes. It's a nice place to study or do some work:) My only recommendation is that I'd prefer the rice cakes come in paper boxes rather than the styrofoam/plastic. I think it affects the flavor and makes a lot of plastic waste. The people there are very nice. Thank you for my rice cakes! ^_^

If you are into traditional Korean rice cakes this place is good ! They sell fresh dok and sweet rice. They have a cafe for juice and coffee. I bought a couple gift boxes for the holiday for family and they have different gift sizes and prices listed in the photo. You call ahead and pick up the day you want to give the gift for max freshness ! What’s also unique is the rice cakes ! They offer flower design, rainbow and pumpkin ~ I like that these are more savory or lightly sweet treats. My favourite is the Yaksik which is the sticky sweet rice with chestnuts and dates ~ The cafe itself is so aesthetically pretty for coffee date and chatting !

I love rice cakes and stopping by here makes me miss all the wonderful small coffee shops in Korea.
